Hearty Midwest values with a hint of rebellion.
Value and Worth - Do you know the difference? What is your value? Your worth?
Value: consider (someone or something) to be important or beneficial; have a high opinion of
Worth: the value equivalent to that of someone or something under consideration; the level at which someone or something deserves to be valued or rated:
I am sure you see the similarities, but can you see a difference?
Are you beneficial to anyone or anything in any area of your life? I know, so broad. The answer is yes! You have value just for being alive and here and you.
Worth is another’s judgement of your value to them. A judgement, an opinion. The worth someone gives you is on them, it does not in anyway tarnish your value.
Why do I make this point? Because you need to truly value YOU and see the worth you give yourself in regards to what you do and the people you interact with. I am worth a lot and I work to align myself with others who see and respect my personal worth.
People change. Opinions change. Situations change. These factors can affect others and the worth they determine you have for them... because in the end, most people are only looking out for themselves.
No matter what another’s opinion is of you, it is a reflection of them and DOES NOT dimish your value! People tend to relate to people they see their own personal ‘good’ qualities in and butt heads with those who may have similar qualities they consider ‘bad’ - though these qualities again are personal opinions of themselves manifested and projected onto others.
When you get up today remember your value is your choice! Give yourself 100, go boldly into your day, remain KPH (kind, polite, and helpful), and treat others with respect because no one is worthless.
