Hearty Midwest values with a hint of rebellion.
This Thanksgiving, on top of being thankful for my family, home, health, and career. I am thankful for pursuing my dreams and all of the wonderful people who have helped me along the way.
Don't allow yourself to believe for one more day that you can't pursue your own dreams. Making goals and changing habits are hard, but here are a few things I have done differently to help me achieve mine.
1. Set Your Goal - be realistic but maybe just out of reach! Don't be scared to dream bigger! I set the goal to publish a book, but had I given myself too little time, it wouldn't have happened and that takes us to #2.
2. Break It Down - chunk down your larger goal into smaller goals. Be specific and set check ins on your progress. I set deadlines for myself on word count, art, formatting, etc.
3. Network - no matter what you are doing, start surrounding yourself with like minded people. These connections will be insightful and extremely beneficial when you are questioning your progress and next moves. Tell people about your goal, they will ask you about it and keep you motivated.
4. Don't Give Up - if you miss a mark, keep moving. Where most of us fail is in missing a benchmark or goal and then moving on to something else too quickly. If you want it, you have to work for it.
May your holidays be full of joy and love.
