Hearty Midwest values with a hint of rebellion.
When you choose to follow your dreams, take inventory to make sure you are in fact following your dreams and not running in fear or frustration. Sometimes a new starting point is a good thing, it opens up new opportunities, networks, and ideas. However, if you haven't dealt with what you are running from, it will, most likely, eventually find you.
If you currently find yourself in the position of wanting to start over somewhere new, or you are in the new place and have just been found by what you were running from, take time to evaluate the situation on your truth.
1. Control - Take aim at what needs to change by looking into your area of control. What can you personally change which will help your current situation?
2. Reinforcement - Call in your network, tribe, close friends. If you are honestly trying to make a change, most likely these people will support you and may have skills or knowledge that is helpful to your growth.
3. Confront - Confront your fear. Are you scared of running into an ex (significant other, boss, best friend)? Imagine the situation in your head. Make a plan for if it should occur. LIVE! Let the moment of fear come and pass. You will be okay, even if it feels awkward.
4. Remember - This life is a journey and we are all walking our own paths. Don't compare your journey to another and keep pushing for your dreams. Make your movements steps in the direction you want to go.
You don't have to move to move forward. You don't need to leave to find peace.
